- How can I suggest a topic for a future essay?
Send a reader letter via the contact form with your suggestion and any relevant neighbourhood detail. I keep a running city notebook of ideas; not every suggestion becomes an essay, but thoughtful notes are welcome from Singapore readers and expatriates alike.
- How are reprint requests handled?
Choose "Reprint / permission request" on the form and include outlet name, proposed excerpt, publication date and territory. I reply with permission terms privately. Academic and non-commercial requests receive priority when volume is high.
- Do you accept guest essays?
Guest essays are considered sparingly when they fit an existing series tone — place writing, craft notes or letters. Query via the contact form with a draft summary and your Singapore connection. Unsolicited full manuscripts are discouraged; a paragraph pitch is enough.
- How are reader letters used?
Private letters remain private unless you explicitly grant permission to quote. Some letters inspire essay responses published in Letters Home; others inform editorial choices. I do not sell or share correspondence with third parties beyond what the Privacy Policy describes.
- What are publishing hours and timezone?
Mon–Fri 10:00–18:00 Singapore Time (SGT). New essays typically appear fortnightly during these hours. Seasonal series like Rain Months may cluster posts during relevant weather months.
- How does the journal handle personal data under PDPA?

- Can I link to your essays on social media?
Yes — link to the canonical URL on voicedriftpro.life. Short quotations with attribution are welcome; full reproduction requires permission. Social posts do not need prior approval for standard sharing.
- Is there a newsletter?
There is no separate mailing list at present. New essays are announced on the site during publishing hours; check the Series page or return fortnightly. If a newsletter launches later, it will require explicit opt-in consent under PDPA — never pre-checked.
- How do you fact-check neighbourhood details?
Place names, street details and dates are verified from notebooks and, where needed, public records. When memory is uncertain, the prose says so — personal essay honesty matters more than false precision. Corrections are noted at the bottom of updated essays when errors are found after publication.
- May I quote an essay in my own writing?
Short quotations with attribution and a link to the canonical URL are welcome in blogs, essays and academic work within fair dealing norms. Extended quotations or commercial reuse require a permission request via the contact form so we can confirm terms in writing.
